Build a one-month content calendar in under an hour
A content calendar doesn't need software or a marketing degree — it needs one hour, a spreadsheet, and the five content pillars from our earlier post.
Step 1: Block your posting days
Decide your realistic frequency first — for most SMEs that's 3–4 posts a week. Mark those exact dates on the calendar before you think about content at all.
Step 2: Assign a pillar to each slot
Rotate through product-in-action, behind the scenes, customer proof, education and brand personality. This alone removes the "what do we post today" panic.
Step 3: Mark the dates that matter to your business
Add festive periods, promotions, launches and any Singapore public holidays relevant to your audience. These dates get priority content — everything else fills around them.
Step 4: Plan your shoot day against the calendar
Once you know what you need, list it as a shot list before the shoot — not during. A two-hour session with a clear list produces more usable content than a half-day without one.
Step 5: Leave two slots empty
Something always comes up — a trending moment, a customer story worth reposting, a last-minute promotion. Two open slots a month keep the calendar realistic instead of rigid.
If reading this and thinking "I don't have an hour" is exactly the reaction — that's the calendar, shoot and captions your dedicated PIC builds for you every single month.
